It's still winter in Brisbane...

Hi everyone!

It's cold cold cold here in Brisbane tonight and my fingers are struggling to type. It has been quite some time since I last blog, but here I am...

First thing first, I have to mention roseannetangrs MEGA Lush Giveaway~

And I don't know if you noticed... but I had to reread and reread it to make sure, and yes whoa... I got mentioned! Thank you Roseanne!!

It's an awesome, awesome, giveaway with tons of Lush favourite products worth of winning!! Go check out her youtube channel if you haven't and subscribe~ She also has a Facebook page CLICK HERE

So back to my ramblings...

I noticed that when I applied my Hourglass Veil Fluid Foundation in Indonesia and Singapore, I could achieve the effortless, 'my skin but better' look in no time, and I would be happy to walk out the door with or without checking my face in front of mirror first. Somehow, however, I cannot do that here in Brisbane, Australia, the land of 4 seasons. Strange, if you ask me, for this is a US cosmetics brand. What have I done wrong? Or what could I do to improve my technique of foundation application? I find that it doesn't seem to melt into my skin as effortlessly, and there seems to be separations or worse, creeping into the fine lines and ball up to become dry patches. Oh My Goodness...Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds... hahaha

And to show you what I mean, here's a little shot (photos aren't of the best quality, but I think it still shows you a bit of what I mean...?) the following photos were taken back in Indonesia. Wearing Shade No. 2. Taken outdoor, in natural light.

And here was a shot about a day ago, outdoor. Taken with my iphone though, so I guess it isn't the best quality either... however!! I can see a slight difference in the colour of my face and my chest. My face seems to be slightly tanner? I wonder if the sunlight in Indonesia and Singapore... and the sunlight in Brisbane/Australia... plays a part in how this foundation looks on me? It's a thought... that boggles my mind.

Anywhooosss... I went to the MAC counter at David Jones today and asked whether they have testers for MAC Face and Body Foundation, because I am very interested in it at the moment after hearing reviews from lollipop26 (youtube), and other reviews online... and guess what. It's not available... to us in Brisbane!! Only at MAC Pro Stores in Sydney and Melbourne. How sad!! =( So I think I'll wait till IMATS in Sydney next month :D

Oh by the way, to all living in Australia... I saw that Revlon is having a sale on all, I repeat, ALL their foundations at the moment. All their foundations are now down to AU$29.95. You can spot them at Priceline, Terry White Pharmacy, and even David Jones at that same price. So with my 10% staff discount at David Jones, I gave in and purchased... *drumrolllll*

Hahaha... I so gave in.... sue me! These are normally, originally AU$36.95. So it's like $10 Off for me. Me likey sales.
Luckily I read tons of reviews and checking out face chart before purchasing this, if not I would not have really be well informed about the fact that their shade numbering is way off. 004 Nude is slightly too light, while 005 looks like I've got a tan, while 006 actually looks way much darker than 008 Golden Beige... and 008 and 005 look very similar, with 008 is a tad lighter. So I purchased 008 Golden Beige. My very very first Revlon foundation. I'm a Revlon foundation virginity is g...g..gone. Teeheehee...

Here's a little swatch on my underarm (note: flash photo)

You can definitely see a tinge of darker undertone as shown here on my underarm, but I think it should blend on my face, I'm going to try it tomorrow and hopefully, fingers crossed, hopefully, just maybe, maybe, it would be just the right colour and I'll be a happy girl :)

Oh and I think my underarm veins are looking green? At first I thought I'm seeing both blue and green, but I'm not sure, I could be wrong, but I still think I'm more NC than NW.

Now I'll just post a little snippets of what I've been up to this weekend.

I had...

I went to...
Here's what Brisbane River and City looks like from one side...
And what I had for lunch today...
I shared with a friend! I could not have possibly finished it all by myself...

Alright alllll.... I've got school (aka university or "uni" as I'd mostly call it) tomorrow, so I best be off...... before I don't stop.

Talk to you soon. Real soon. As soon as possible. It's soon. ^-^ Mwaahhh!
