Mani Monday: OPI “Kiss Me On My Tulips”

As I have mentioned last week… today I bring you the other half of the winning duo I recently picked up from Myer. This one is a very berry pink irresistibly named “Kiss Me On My Tulips”. I first fell in love with it when used on my tippy toes, now I simply cannot help checking out my fingernails with them on it. Like tulip petals on my finger tips! Ah, my imagination…

What you think? I’m not usually a fan of pink pinks on the nails but I find this to have a touch of that Great Gatsby sophistication. Moulin Rouge playfulness yet youthful and fresh.

One coat can do but I give this a two coat ply and a top coat to seal its goodness and prolong its wear.

If you are interested, the duo of this and Red Lights Ahead… Where? (+ an OPI purse) is currently sold at David Jones and Myer for $29.95 for the set “Grab It, Bag It and Let’s Go”. Worth it when you think that 1 bottle of OPI here in Oz costs $19.95.

So creamy, so fingerlickinglicious!

Let’s Talk BB Cream: Skin Physics Instant Age Reset BB Plus 7 in 1 Complexion Correction Balm with Renovage SPF 15 in “Medium”

If this is not the longest BB Cream name ever.

Thank goodness that’s the only thing I have against this product. Surprised? Even I am!

Packaging reminiscent of Missha BB Cream, no?
If you have followed me over the years, I have tried a fair share of BB Creams even before it reached the Australian market. Despite originating from Germany, the majority of them came from Korea. Moving on years later, Chanel, Bobbi Brown, Dior, Lancome, MAC, Garnier, L'Oreal, Revlon, Maybelline, etcetera... all the luxury and drugstore brands, you can think of out there, are churning out their own versions of BB or CC Creams. Did I get sucked into all that? To be brutally honest, no. I have tried them and did not like them. The end.

Now here’s my thoughts on the Skin Physics BB Cream.

Mani Monday: OPI “Red Lights Ahead… Where?”

A touch darker than the new Chanel Lilis nail polish, this shade won my heart when I first laid eyes on it in store in a duo pack with another of my favourite shade that you will find out next week :)

This is glossy even without top coat but imagine what it would be like with top coat on. One coat gives you a nice flawless finish, creamy and no streaking at all.

A very juicy shade. I’m in love.

To Try List: Body Scrubs

Just thought I’d share my current… obsession. It’s no surprise that I am a fan of spa, body products especially when it has that natural philosophy. I am a big believer in finding happiness in things like this. Can I simply say, it invigorates my soul, calms the mind, and when it is at the comfort of your own home, utter bliss.

One of the products I truly enjoy is body scrub. Not only it leaves your skin smooth but it energises, awakens my senses. I may not have time for bath soaks and all but I really like love how you can do an extra ‘me’ time with body scrub in the shower.

My curiosity for body scrubs… inspired by spa all over the world. So far, only Thann spa is available here in Brisbane, none of the other ones are. I haven’t even tried Thann!

Note: I don’t know how these smell like, yet, unfortunately, I can only imagine and guess. That’s why these are in my “To Try” List.

Tsiknaris Hair Experience @ New Farm, Brisbane

Many a times I go to a hairdresser and they just asked what I want to do to my hair. Uhm, yeah, I’m not sure… something that can accentuates my good sides and compliments my features and well… something I can manage at home too? Have you ever had that moment when you panic because you just didn’t know what to do or what to say or how to even express what you should do to your hair? You’ve had this hair for way too long and it is just a tad boring. Time for a change… yeah, I had that moment. At a no better time, I was introduced to the Tsiknaris hair salon at New Farm on Brunswick St.
The salon at New Farm, Brisbane

Bill Tsiknaris, the Tsiknaris’ Creative Director, has recently won the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) Queensland Hairdresser of the Year 2013.

To add to that, his brothers Dimitri and Chris are both finalists as well. Gosh, can I just say, that talent runs in this family!
So what did I do to my hair?! Keep reading :)

Mani Monday: Inglot “914”

Tomato red… pepper red… whichever shade you decide to call this, this is Inglot number 914. Fascinating shade… reminds me of… oh, I know! Paprika spices. Y’know? :)

Mani Monday: Inglot “943”

This is more of a very well cooked egg yolk in a boiled egg rather than a dried mango powder (see NARS Amchoor).

Perhaps it is just in the yellow pigment that causes the way it glides on to the nails as not as smooth as some other colours. It happened with the NARS Thakoon collection, and it has happened with the Inglot collection. All of the rest of the shades applies very smoothly and evenly, yet the yellow has that slight gluggyness to it. Just a tad. Overall though, I would still go back to this shade and wear it again and again. Sunny side up!

Available at Inglot. RRP AUD16 but currently 50% off, so this is now $8.

Disclaimer: Product was purchased for personal use with own funds. What I love, I share the news :)
