Manicotti Lemon Tree Dwelling



Enjoy the bright flavors of manicotti with lemon flavor that are filled with a creamy ricotta cheese mixture and set on a bed of marinara sauce. This recipe for manicotti is a great change from the usual ones. Each bite is a treat of freshness.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box manicotti shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 175F 350C

Follow the directions on the package to cook the manicotti shells

Remove the water and set it aside

Put ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl

In the bottom of a baking dish, spread out 1 cup of marinara sauce

Fill cooked manicotti shells with the cheese mix, then put them in a baking dish

Cover the stuffed manicotti with the rest of the marinara sauce

Add grated Parmesan cheese on top

Place foil over the top and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until hot all the way through

Take off the foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and starting to turn golden

Before serving, sprinkle with fresh parsley
