Hair Care | AVEDA Dry Remedy Range

There is something I continuously steer away from when it comes to hair care, it is the word ‘dry’ and ‘moisturising’. I have been one of those sceptical kind, due to the fact that my hair has its own personality. My hair is flat, volume-less, oil up fast in the roots and I’m just not too sure what shampoo to use all the time. And it has colour running through it.

Come along this reformulated range from Aveda.

Aveda Dry Remedy range - lifestyle

I’ve heard of Aveda hair care range but I have so far only walked passed it from the outside of Oscar Oscar hair salon. I have not tried it so I was keen to see how this range perform.

On a quest for super-hydrated hair, Aveda, The Art and Science of Pure Flower and Plant Essences, sought inspiration from the moisture-rich forests of Brazil, where a serious solution for parched, brittle strands exists, called buriti oil.

What it is – is a richly moisturising ingredient harvested from the fruit of the Moriche Palm – aka “Tree of Life” – which flourishes in Brazil’s wettest areas. Buriti oil is powerfully hydrating and the key ingredient in this range.

What’s more:

The reformulated Dry Remedy range showcases a secret behind Dry Remedy, which is the patented Deep-Moisture Complex which features buriti oil, pomegranate and olive oils.

The Daily Moisturizing Oil is 99.9 per cent naturally derived (with no silicones) and is made from certified organic buriti oil, which instantly hydrates hair by 41 per cent, leaving it soft, supple and shiny without any greasy residue.

Buriti oil is sourced from a rural community in Piaui, Brazil – where Aveda not only provides revenue to the community but also supporting the funding of much needed clean water wells.

Aveda is also the first prestige beauty company to introduce an innovative new packaging material, containing plastic derived from plants in its Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner and Masque tubes.

Overall I am enjoying this range, the only hindrance would just be the price. It is almost like why do you buy a $50 face moisturiser but not a $50 shampoo/conditioner hair care, right? Ah, the dilemma. Although, when I do someday have the extra $$ at my own disposal I would not hesitate to repurchase when I run out. For now I would save these as treatments and alternatives. However if you are not concerned with the price and you just want a really nice, luxurious, softening and moisturising shampoo that not only nourishes but give your hair a lift without stripping it of moisture, with the benefits of natural Buriti oil, give this a try. I just can’t put my finger to it, something about this shampoo, conditioner and oil that I just fell in love with. The feel of my hair perhaps? The scent? The packaging? Just something…

Available now.

i never tried this range before. $50 for a shampoo sounds too much but i guess it could work with me only shampooing my hair 2 to 3 times a week. im glad to know that thus shampoo doesnt stripping the moisture from the hair. thanks for the review!

Wow... As much as I do love my hair... $50 seems a little bit much just for a shampoo... I do have really long hair so I would go through this soooo quickly! The hydration sounds good though ;)

i never attempted this extent. However I get it could work with me just shampooing my hair 2 to 3 times each week. I am happy to realize that consequently cleanser doesn't stripping the dampness from the hair. Much obliged for the audit!
