Review: The Jojoba Company Anti-Aging Day Cream SPF 15

The Jojoba Company has tickled my fancy when their motto is “beauty is in our nature” that mainly focuses on the jojoba ingredient. Jojoba itself is rich in antioxidant and vitamin E that leaves your skin feeling nourished and well balanced.

I will first let you in what they have to say about this product and will then let you know what I think.

Description

Skin protection comes naturally with this lightweight moisturising day cream that also provides a broad spectrum SPF 15 barrier to protect skin against harmful UVA/UVB rays without clogging pores. This moisturising cream provides daily invisible protection to reduce the appearance of fine lines and signs of ageing, whilst helping to prevent signs of premature ageing resulting from sun exposure. Suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.

Results

Skin will feel smoother, more supple and softer. Skin will look visibly younger. Wrinkles will appear reduced.

Directions

Apply daily under make-up or on its own to face, neck and décolletage for vital moisturising and protection against the damaging effects of the sun’s rays.

Verdict

What’s with the smell? It grew on me slowly over time, though, and I can deal with it because it is so easy to just apply this and go out the door without having to do a double step (moisturiser first then sunscreen). It needs to be well massaged into the skin. The first time you use it, if you’re not used to the thickness of the cream, you may feel that it is on the greasier side. It takes time to sink in. It leaves a sheen. It is not as lightweight as it claims to be, in my opinion. I like it, but I’m not in love with it. It smoothens my skin yet … I feel like as though I’m having a love/hate relationship with this product and here I am writing about it.

It has some wonderful natural ingredients such as green tea, pomegranate, and of course the star of the show is the jojoba oil. I know I can wear this as I grow older. It definitely be better suited to those feeling dehydrated, dryness or mature skin. I would not recommend this for oily skin. I think sensitive skin could still give this a try, it did not leave me feeling red or blotchy or irritated – and I can get quite reactive to some products.
