Review: Lush The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask

By now if you’ve been following me, you would know that I am a fan of Lush fresh face masks. Their masks are made fresh and need to be stored in the fridge. It is superb for hot summer days.

TIPS TIME!
Depending on my current skin condition I switch up my masks and I picked up The Sacred Truth recently after loving Catastrophe Cosmetic. I’m telling you now I use “Oatifix” in winter, especially when my skin is dry from the weather and flakey and all, Oatifix is my skin fix. Something like that. If my skin is on the oilier side, I will grab “Brazened Honey” or “Cupcake”.

The Sacred Truth

Ingredients as fresh as papaya and green tea excite me, that was perhaps the main reason why I wanted to try this mask. It is targeted towards mature skins, however I thought it would not hurt to try anything that is considered “anti-aging” since I am almost in my mid-20s now… soon.

Lush says:

The Sacred Truth contains a powerful combination of rich, softening ingredients like linseed, eggs and shea butter to deeply moisturize and nutritious wheat grass, papaya, green tea and ginseng root to restore essential vitamins and brighten.

Papaya is highly nutritious, containing vitamins A, B, and C, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron. The Sacred Truth Fresh contains fresh papaya to brighten and tone the skin, giving it a fresh glow.

Surely such magical description of a mask gives you the impression that this is it. This is the Queen of all masks. In fact, one cannot judge that easily. At the end of the day, it truly depends on the state of your skin at that period of time. I like it but I don’t love it. What does it look like then?

Do I like it?

  • Mask is easy to spread, little goes a long way – I like
  • Doesn’t quite hardened as well as the others – It’s okay, I don’t hate it
  • Is not the best smell but is not as stinky as Ayesha – although Ayesha does better in smoother texture and softening of the skin
  • Results in moderate smooth and soft skin – It’s okay
  • Refreshing – I like
  • No irritation or itchiness – I like

Price: $15.95 /tub

Will I repurchase? Maybe, but I prefer other masks. This one is a safe one but I don’t love it that much. To be honest I was expecting a little more from this one. I was thinking of papaya and green tea to give me that extra oomph. It didn’t… or maybe in the long term it will?
