FOTD “Naturally Sweet” Valentine’s Day Look + Reviews in Minute

I came up with this look by accident. I never intended to do a Valentine’s Day look, but when I was done with the makeup I could not help but think of Valentine’s Day and hence naming it “Naturally Sweet”. Why? Because the look is about enhancing what you have and follow the contours of your face and giving it a bit of a boost to “sweeten up the day”… okay maybe I just failed at trying to describe this look. Hopefully you get to see what I mean.

Products Used

MAC Face & Body
I am in C2. I just used my fingers to blend it on my face. Just one layer.

MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer
In NW20 for the under eye areas. Dab and blend. Using fingers again.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer
In NC30 for any redness or blemishes. In my case it was some odd red spots.  Fingers used.

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural
To set the face because I want it to look natural and not overly made up like porcelain doll. I’m in Medium Plus. This powder does not cake up on me. Yay!

Hourglass Oxygen Powder
I use this to gently press and set some areas that tend to get oily quick. Use sparingly and in pressing motion using either a flat top powder brush or a puff. I’m in shade No.1.

NARS Laguna
To contour in the hollows of my cheekbones. I used MAC 109 brush for this. Best. Brush.

Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Libido
Using a duo fibre stippling brush (mine is an inexpensive Target brand ‘Cosmetica’) to dab and blend onto the apples of the cheeks blend upwards towards the temples.

MAC Powder Blush in Cantaloupe
Used a small fluffy tapered blush brush (Silk Green Line Blush Brush GL-2 by Royal and Langnickel) to apply and blend on top of the cream blush. I also applied a swirl on the areas above my temples to even out my face shape (this step is optional).

Palgantong Kamayaki Cheek Face Colour in #01 Honeymoon Pink
Has two sides, the pink and the snow (just let me call it snowflakes k). The snow shade is best for highlighting under the brows and cheeks. The pink can also be used on the cheeks. Love. It. Also, a new thing I just tried is (using my finger to dab) to use the pink shade as an eyeshadow on my mobile eyelid to give it a very brightening eye opener effect. I. Am. In. Love.

Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Medium
Thinking whether I need the darker one now that my hair is not exactly brown. Not sure yet.

Stile Eye Shadow in Kalahoo
Under the eyes and to contour the eyes. For this look I just used my fingers to dab it on the outer corner of my eyes. I’ve talked about this eye shadow before – review is here.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Pro Colour
To tightline the upper lash line. I don’t know what colour this is, but it is a matte dark chocolate brown. Very versatile and lasts a long time.

Shiseido Eyelash Curler

Lancome Hypnose Waterproof*
For some reason, perhaps I have been using this the wrong way. Today, however, I truly see its wonder… I think I have finally found the best way to use this. It is not to quickly swipe and go. It is sort of like trying to wedge the bristles on your lashes and slowly dab dab upwards. I find that different mascaras work differently and one must find that technique to make it work for their individual lashes.

Bare Lips
No it is not a name of the lipsticks but might as well be so. Perhaps you could put extra lip gloss if you like. I left it bare.

Note: So far this has to be the only pink shade that I can work on my eyes. Most other pinks would make me look as though I have allergic reaction going on. Palgantong is a Japanese brand (Made in Korea) that I purchased few years ago in Singapore, and still loving it.

All products are my own and purchased for my personal collection. Only those noted with a * were provided by PR for consideration. In this case, it is only the mascara. Just letting you know. =]
