Little Priceline Haul Today

After work, I had to get some necessities from Priceline and came home with a wee bit more products but I can't be more happier!!

Two of the products aren't shown cause.. well... they're girls necessities like shaver & pantyliners... do I really need to show the entire world a box of pantyliners? No, no need.

Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Conditioner - AUD$2.99 (on sale) (so cheap! I might go back and get more!) - These are great as intensive rinse out deep conditioning especially for my long hair. I love the smell and I'm running out of hair conditioner and masque treatment!) Perfect!

Face of Australia
was having a promotion with Buy 2 and get a Kabuki brush worth $9.95 - however, the Priceline at Queens St did not have the Kabuki brush at all, so I asked what they could do about it and whether they would value a different promotion. I said I would get 3 products. The sales assistant was super nice about it and said he would honour it and gave me a $9.95 off! Whee! So I picked up these... all for AUD$29.90.

  • Anti-Ageing Stick Foundation with SPF15 and Mineral Kaolin in shade Honey - $11.95
(which I intend to use as a touch up or concealer)
  • Mineral Therapy Liquid Foundation with Jojoba & Vitamin C and E in shade Honey Beige - $15.95
  • High Definition Liquid Eyeliner in Brown - $11.95
(I wanted the black too but I thought this would look more natural on me, I've been loving brown eyeliners on my eyes lately)
Well that's it! Little things... but I can't wait to test them out tomorrow and I will give you a review on them! They look promising! :)

I tested the eyeliner on my hand this afternoon and it is still on my hand! Waterproof indeed! Impressive!! No smudging, no smearing, does not budge either. We shall see how it holds up on my eyes.

Alrighty! Ta ta!

First visit to Benefit Brow Bar Brisbane

I must say I wasn't expecting much when I walked towards Myer Centre today during my dinner break from work, yes I do work on Friday till 9pm, y'know the late night city shopping trading hours. Anyway, I thought I came to check out the new Benefit Brow Bar and boy was I surprised to see Make Up Store stand! I've only seen Make Up Store in Singapore and the fact that it has reached Brisbane has impressed me. Brisbane, you're catching up! Wheee~!

I was greeted by Nikki - whom reminded me of MAC's latest collection Quite Cute - hey, she had a pink wig bob on and such a friendly lovely smile! Much friendlier than *ahem* MAC girls *ahem*.

I asked about brows, since it's only about a week ago that I had my eyebrows done for the very first time! Did I tell you I did threading to my eyebrows? Well, now you know hehehe... So I'm a newbie when it comes to eyebrows shaping or what not and I'm only starting to get more particular about it. When Nikki complimented on how great my eyebrows looked, in my head I was thanking the lady who did the threading - oh didn't she do a great job, my first experience was a breeze thanks to her. (For those in Brisbane and interested in threading - drop me a message I'll pass her contact details to you). I asked Nikki about tinting and what to do and what to use etc. She then suggested to pop some on ... onto my eyebrows! I was ... slightly worried.

But worry not! Using Brows-A-Go-Go kit, she applied a bit of the wax and the colour and then a highlight and wow to my brows, indeed! (That's their slogan, by the way) (Don't you just love how Benefit has little quotes and phrases for all their products? I do, I think it's cute)

Result? No sparse bits, no Frida Kahlo's monobrow.

Brows-A-Go-Go is available at AUD$68 in store and it contains:
- brow zings powder (light) & (dark)
- brow zings wax (light)
- smokin' liner
- eye bright
- brow highlighter powder
- mini tweezer
- hard angle/talent brush

Cute handy little thing!

Little sneaky tip: Purchase it from benefit website online and you'll get it at the US price at USD$38. International Shipping is Free for purchase $115 or more with code WORLD115. Don't believe me? Click Here for more information.

Lovely girls and amazing service - if you girls happen to be in town, drop in! No appointment is necessary!

Myer Brisbane City - 07 3232 0121

Here's the price list to put the WOW to your BROWS!

If you do find this information... informative and attractive and made you want to go check out the Brow Bar at Myer Brisbane...
Do pass my regards to Nikki and Hannah and tell them you hear about them from this blog, would you be so kind to do that?
Thanks muchies, lovelies!!

What's better to end this but a photo, so here's little snapshot of me and Nikki after she did my eyebrows and popped some "benetint" on my cheeks and lips (oh this is so going in my growing wishlist now!)

Where did it all begin...

What question is this I'm referring to, you may ask. Well, how and where did my fascination, introduction, or passion with makeup come from... that's the question. I have to say that it was introduced to me pretty early - as in, I've seen products used first hand on other people not on myself ever since I was a little girl. People ask, y'know. They do. They come up to me and ask why I like makeup so much. Or why I bother in investing in skincare and though it seems I have tried numerous range of products there still are an enormous amount of products out there that I have not tried. The market is huge, I tell you, huge!

So back to the topic... gosh you really must remind me if I stray off topic like what I just did. Hah. Who's the person behind my early introduction to makeup? Clearly and simply... my mum. Yes, mother, you're the culprit. No, you can't say no to that, because after all these times, you are the one person I first saw with makeup on. Hahaha!

Makeup, to me, is something that makes you feel better. It's a self expression. It still feels like you not somebody else, it's still you but better. Get it? You must be comfortable in rocking it. I never recommend anything if you don't feel comfortable with it or comfortable with your own skin. It takes time to adjust and it really depends on individuals. It's just my take on the subject.

I've had people say that my interest with makeup is just another hobby that will phase out in time. Hey, I still play the piano, don't I? I've been playing it all my life and it has not and never will phase out. If it's something you are passionate about, you would not let others bash you about it and put you down. You won't care what others say and do what you gotta do and rock it your way!

I've had people say that those who wear makeup are fake. Oh really now? Why won't you let us self express our love for beautifying things, including our faces? Hah!

LOL there's my little rant.. and opinions on the subject of makeup. Where do I stand... I believe that everybody is different and that is the essence of being unique, being who you are. If having dark lipstick makes you feel good about yourself and more confident, then by all means rock that lipstick, girl! If you want to play dress up and maybe go all dolly one night, go ahead!

However, yes, on daily basis, I do feel comfortable leaving the house makeupless... bare faced... and most days I wear something along the line of 'no makeup' makeup look... or 'natural' sort of look just because that's the kind I like on daily basis. For night time, oh you have not seen me with those falsies and heavy eyeliners now have you? If you have, then lucky you! Hahaha...

My mum did say to me she prefers me almost makeup free... the natural look makes me look younger, she said to me. Oh mum... some people already said I look 18... how much younger should I look? Bwahaha...

Anyway, here's a little peek of my mum... Her recent photo when she went to Kuala Lumpur with Dad (without me! Ah! I want to go!) I have to say I have her to live up to... as a standard, especially at her age! She's 51! And had us 3 girls! ... She's past 50 and she's looking better than ever! Oh the expectations...

If you see this... Hi Mum!
LOL yeah she does check out my blog sometimes...

NOTW: Face of Australia Molten Metallics in Gold

Wouldn't you like your hands dripping in gold? I feel like Midas with this gold polish on. Y'know, the Midas touch? Yeh anyway...

Upon receiving 2 of the new Limited Edition Molten Metallics nail polish range from Face of Australia in the goodie bag from Brisbane Beauty Bloggers Event, I could not wait to try them! However I was giving my nails some breath of fresh air by leaving them all au naturale for the past couple of weeks. No matter how pleasing they look bare, I'm pretty happy there's no chipping whatsoever, I just could not resist adorning my nails with this metallic nail polish. Also, I've never tried Face of Australia nail polish before and being a nail polish person, I was so tempted.

I received these 2 colours - Gold & Amethyst
.

They are quite standard and nothing fancy with naming these and I have to say that they have different sort of finishes. Yes the metallic bits is there, but Gold has more sort of fine shimmer to it while Amethyst is just dead on liquid metal sort of look.

What Face of Australia says about it:

Adorn your nails with breathtaking silver, gold and bronzing shades in stunning metallic finish. A total of 8 rich, dazzling hues to make your nails the ultimate fashion statement this winter.

Features & Benefits:

Advanced formula dries in 60 seconds
Stunning metallic finish
Long wearing, chip resistant
Toluene free, Formaldehyde free, Dibutyl Phthalate free

Price: $4.95
Available: May - August 2011 while stocks last

Here's a look of what this nail polish looks like first try...

The brush is sturdy, not flimsy but it's one of the simple round ones (instead of the big fan out ones).

With just one coat... look at Your Goldness in all its glory...

Note: yes I like to rename nail polish names...

Indoor lighting
Outdoor natural light
Outdoor natural light

What do you think of the metallic nails? A hit or a miss?
I think metallics are hitting the market lately especially in the form of nail polish. I think it's fun but not something I'd cry over if I don't have one... at least that's where I stand on it in the meantime, who knows, that opinion might change.

Will I purchase more of this?
I most likely will... at $4.95 it's a steal! Nice range of shades and application was a breeze. I'm interested in few other shades such as Iron Ore (Black shimmer metallic) and White Gold... now if only they have a purple taupe sort of shade... mm mm mmm!!

till next time

Review: Face of Australia Gentle Makeup Remover

I'd be honest and tell you that I did not know Face of Australia makes a makeup remover, let alone a gentle makeup remover that is a dual layer - one of those you need to shake before you pour the liquid on to the cotton pad.

So when I saw this bottle of goodness in the Face of Australia goodie bag I received from the Brisbane Beauty Bloggers Event at about 2 Sundays ago, I was ecstatic. I don't know what about this kind of makeup remover, but I get excited about it - these bifacil/two layers/dual phase kinds.

What it claims...
You can check out its super cute poster on their website
http://www.faceofaustralia.com.au

Removes all types of make-up including waterproof. With soothing Cornflower Extract Oil Free Paraben Free

Face of Australia Gentle Make-Up Remover is an innovative dual-phase liquid that activates when shaken. With a tear compatible pH, this Oil and Paraben Free formula melts away all types of make-up including waterproof with ease and will not sting sensitive eyes. Contains soothing Cornflower Extract and is fragrance free.

Oil free? Now I had always thought that the top layer of the product is always oil! I guess I was wrong...? Gentle enough that it will not sting my eyes? I like the sound of that! Remove waterproof makeup? Yes please! I'm notorious with using waterproof makeup.

Now let's look at the ingredients, shall we?
Water, Cyclomethicone, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Centaurea Cyanus (Cornflower) Flower Extract, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Benzyl Alcohol, Lauralkonium Chloride.

Sodium Chloride? If my memory serves me right, is salt... isn't it not? Yes it is! That's incredibly interesting! Seems like it is common across dual phase makeup removers - it is listed in the Erno Laszlo Multi-pHase Makeup Remover, US Target Up&Up Dual-phase makeup remover, and many others.

Now that we have the organic chemistry sorted let's see how well it performs, shall we?

Here's some stubborn waterproof liquid eyeliners...
(Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner on top & Missha M Super Extreme Waterproof Eyeliner on bottom)
Then do the shake... When you shake it, the liquid will become cloudy and slightly foamy but it is by no means soapy.
The liquid itself is clear, just like water. It has no fragrance and is not oily. Pouring is an ease with its opening under the screw top. No spill - no mess.
And wah lah! Gone!
So, the verdict is...

It is indeed gentle
It does not sting my eyes
It is not oily
It does not leave a film of oil mess all over my eyes
It does not blur my vision
Secure screw top lid with

Will I repurchase when I run out?
At such an affordable inexpensive price, for sure I will!

Price: AUD$8.95
Size: 125 mL
Available at: Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies Australia Wide

Snippets of my 23rd Birthday Dinner

It was my birthday on Thursday 21st April. I turned 23.

This year I really did not do anything grand or party-ish, a couple of dinners are on raincheck, postponed till some other time. Meanwhile, on the night of my birthday, my two younger sisters decided to take me to this Japanese buffet restaurant called
Hirameki on Wickham St, Fortitude Valley (aka Chinatown).
Lunch - $19 per person Dinner - $23 per person

There's a chef behind the food table constantly making fresh sushi :) We were all really hungry that night and so you could see with the number of plates of food we had... I shall let the pictures do the talking.
Here's me taking all the sashimi off the rice hahaha

My two younger sisters ... one being a number "2" , the other one being number "3" and I turned "23" so here they are... lol making faces
It was a nice experience with friendly staff members and decent price range. They also have a menu you can order a la carte if you don't feel like a buffet. The food and ambience are rather mediocre and if you are after a more classier atmosphere I'd suggest you check out SONO (Queens St, Brisbane City) or Little Tokyo (Spring Hill, Brisbane). However, for a nice chill out casual Japanese buffet, this place is spot on, as it is located right on Wickham St - very close to Fortitude Valley train station and the bus and central of Chinatown here in Brisbane.

Newfound Favourites as of April 2011

I would call this favourites but what kind of favourites, you would ask? If I say current favourites, then how come it doesn't include everything? So the dilemma... hence the word 'newfound' kindly inserted in, as these are the things that I have recently found to be quite impressive and can see myself using them in long term.

1) Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Lotion with Vitamin E - Deep Conditioning
First we have body lotion. Now my skin is not overly dry and I hardly use body lotion especially in summer time, however, the winter is beginning to get dry as winter is creeping up fast, so an addition to my skincare routine such as body lotion would not hurt. After much debates whether I should fork out AUD$12.99 for an Aveeno I decided to go with Vaseline instead, which cost way cheaper and actually works so nicely I cannot believe I had not used them sooner!

I initially purchased the small bottle (200 ml) when Priceline was having a sale on it for only $3.79 or something I forgot... and I ended up loving it so much I use it all the time. I then saw Terry White is having a sale of the big bottle (750 ml) for only $7.49 (normally $10.99) and I knew I had to snatch one!

This goes on smoothly and non greasy, absorbs quick and has a gentle scent of cocoa butter that conditions the skin without leaving it sickeningly buttery. The scent does not linger long but just have a nice skin scent afterwards. I like that about it. Even though it's cocoa butter, it's probably the gentlest smell of cocoa butter I've smelled.

2) Shiseido The Skincare Night Moisture Recharge
Oh boy oh boy do I need the full size of this stuff! I'm using the tiny sample bottle and I can't get enough. I love how it feels at night and what my skin feels like in the morning. It is non greasy and it smells so nice and relaxing. It's emulsion sort of texture so it is on the runnier side without it being too watery, and it definitely absorbs into my skin very nicely. A definite upgrade in my skincare product!

3) Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment for Hair
Again, this is a nice surprise which I would like to purchase the bigger bottle of. I bought the mini 10 ml bottle (AU$7.95) to test it out first and I tell you... it lasts way longer than you expected! I've been using a small drop several times a week for the past month and it is still nowhere half the bottle! It is non greasy and makes my hair feels so smooth and soft and tangle free. It smells nice too without being too overpowering. You can use this as hair treatment just use a drop or two into your conditioner and use it as a hair masque in the shower. Or you can use it when your hair is damp straight after towel drying as heat protectant before you blow dry or use any hair styling tool. Or you can use it on dry hair =)

I bought this at Price Attack (Australia) - I'm pretty sure the other sort of hair stores sell them such as Hairhouse Warehouse, but I haven't really checked it out yet.

4) Beautycare Makeup Remover Pads
I purchased this pack of 2 from Kmart for only $2! Could I be more surprised and impressed at the quality! It doesn't fray, it doesn't break apart like most do, and there's 100 in 1 pack and it is so cheap at $2 for 2 you can't go wrong! Definitely recommending and will repurchase!

5) QV Gentle Wash
I was skeptical about this initially but how convenient it is to have this in the 1 Litre pump bottle. First time ever I purchased something in a litre pump bottle! I can use this for my body and my face. I actually quite enjoy using this as my face cleanser. I do use separate cleansing oil to remove my makeup before cleansing my face with this.

This gentle wash does not contain SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) unlike the QV Gentle Face Cleanser does. This is also gentle that it doesn't dry out your skin and actually does slightly rehydrate, not amazing rehydration but it doesn't dry out my skin, plus you should really be using separate body lotion if your skin is way too dry.

One thing I notice though, the product runs slightly different in the small 250 ml bottle and the 1 Litre. It seems to be runnier in the litre pump bottle, and thicker consistency in the 250 ml bottle. However, both works the same, I had not seen any reactions or difference in the feel of the product.

This is inexpensive for 1 Litre, you can get them ranging from $14.95 - $19.99 depending on where you go and whether they have promotion. All chemists should stock them and of course Priceline does.

6) Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
Again, oh boy do I need the full size of this! I've only been squeezing what's left of the little sachet I pulled out off a magazine. It so happens to be a shade that matches me perfectly - B30 (Beige - Sable). One thing about this is that it looks like my own skin when I wear it - quite undetectable that I am wearing foundation so as to give the impression that my face is just naturally flawless and I like that finish so much. Perhaps not something I'd wear if I know I'd be photographed and need heavier coverage but for nights or days I want to look like I'm wearing nothing at all... being face to face with someone so close that sort of encounters..? I'd definitely pick this foundation!

7) QV Lip Balm with SPF30
Fragrance free, non greasy, spf 30, non sticky, moisturising, and costed me only $3.99. Easy squeeze tube, hygienic. I like it, enough said.

8) Covergirl Perfect Blend Pencil Crayon in Black Brown
I came across this as an accident. I wanted to get the liquilineblast initially in brown but spotted this on further reduction as clearance and thought I'd give it a go, since I wanted a natural dark brown eyeliner for a daily natural look. This is perfect. The right shade of brown and it stays on all day. It is creamy enough without being smudgy or too runny. Set it with eyeshadow, curl your lashes and mascara and I'm good to go with no other eyeshadow colours on my lids. I don't know if they've discontinued this?

Well there we have it... My current staple products... recent finds whichever you may want to call it... what I've been loving lately...

What are your favourites lately?

They're called wishlist for a reason & FOTD

My birthday is coming up and people are starting to come up to me asking me what I want for my birthday. Now I don't know about you but I feel rather... horrible for 'demanding' what I want. It's that little tugging feeling inside of you consciously saying that you should be thankful with what you have and you should not ask for more sort of feeling... but you know... there's such thing as Bridal Registry List - where couples list out the things (gifts) they want. I thought it's a cool idea - it helps you start your new life as a couple in a new place and you don't get duplicate or triplicate gifts! Ok, so back to my thoughts on my birthday wishes.

There are two ways I could go about this: materialistically or conscience-ly. Conscience tells me I will wish for:
1) Happiness
2) Healthyness

3) Hardworkingness

Well that was a lot of H's... so anyway, what about materialistically? Now where do I start... shall I start with the classic designer bags? Or shall I start with the skincare products I've been eyeing on? Or shall I tell you the kind of scarf I've been thinking of that would be perfect for this coming winter? Or the skinny belt I've been wanting to accessorize my outfit with? Or the makeup products I'd love to use? Or the makeup brushes my hands are tingly to having them?

Now tell me if it's not only natural for us to 'want'... to 'need'... to be better, to feel better, to look good and feel good by looking good.

I may have these huge list of the things I want but hey it's called wishlist for a reason, no? If I can't wish for it then what's the point of listing it all out in the first place, right.

Anyway, I shall leave you with a little Face of the Day the other day when I tested out Napoleon products for the very first time. I received several samples from the Brisbane Beauty Bloggers Event goodie bags and I can't say I am not impressed! Because I so am!

Taken outdoor...

Here's a snapshot of the products used:-
  • Napoleon Auto Pilot Skin Pre-foundation skin Primer (Face - applied after moisturiser, prior to foundation)
  • Napoleon China Doll Foundation (For some weird reason they don't state what shade this is - omg)
  • L'Oreal True Match concealer in W1-2-3
  • Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Fair
  • ELF Bronzer to contour from the Blush/Bronzing Duo
  • MAC Style blush
  • Laura Mercier Orchid Mosaic for highlight (on top of cheekbones)
  • Covergirl Perfect Blend pencil crayon in black brown (to tightline)
  • Covergirl Lash Blast waterproof mascara
  • Shu Uemura eyelash curler
  • Christian Dior very very old eyeshadow - the numbering has faded (this is my mum's - mine now!)
What's on my lips?
  • Ciccone lipstick in Oceanus
  • topped with Hourglass Prodigy lipgloss in Opium
I am so loving this combo!

Well then, I must sleep ... goodnight to all of you beauties.
This antihistamine tablets are seriously drugging me... to a point I'm going to start slurring my words and doing head spins... Goodnight!

Who else is an April baby?
Tell me one of your wishlist =)

Brisbane Beauty Bloggers Event

was today!!!!

I can't wait to share with you all what happened and how I had no more hands to carry the goodies bags that we went home with!

It was held at ORB Hair & Beauty Salon on the corner of James St & Merthyr Rd at New Farm. If those of you are wondering how to get there, catch the 199 bus from city or valley then stop at the 3rd stop on the Merthyr Road bus stop. How did I know this? Because I caught the bus to get there today.

Anyway, it was a success! I did not know what to expect and had no idea there were going to be all these goodies and oh there was this dip... ohmygoodnessliciousme!! You have got to try it. I was hooked from the very first bite... There were cupcakes that were just uber cute and pink... There were champagne, bubblies... what a place for a beauty blogger event to be held. I truly enjoyed it.

I will definitely talk more about it in my upcoming posts (+photos) and in the meantime I just want to give a brief update of what just happened today. A huge huge thank you to the following people who have made it happened:

Sarah from hipandhaute
Annica from hauteandstylish

and Nikki from Styling You for sharing her experiences and knowledge and advices on how to become a better blogger - definitely have much to learn from her!

Big thank you for Lauren from Cloud Nine who did amazing job demonstrating the hair styling products including the new "The O" styling system - more about it later! (Though, I didn't get a chance to try it. Lauren used the wide large styler to style my hair today). Lauren would definitely be the best person to ask anything hair styling!

Also to Kaitlin from Napoleon. She teaches at the Napoleon school in the city and did amazing makeup for all of us... flawlessly! That neon orange bright lipstick does work on everybody - wow!

Thank you to Deb - at Orb Hair & Beauty Salon - she was lovely...

So here I am, back in my little room, blogging away... and I shall be back soon!

Good night to all of you in Brisbane - you were all such gorgeous lovely girls, it was so nice to get to meet all of you. Thank you also to Sarah's mum for making those yummy cupcakes!

I can't say enough good things about what happened this afternoon... can't wait for more to come!

When Insomnia Found Me A New Tag To Do

So I've been twisting and turning in bed for the past... uhm I dunno, few hours... and I'm still awake. Gosh... anyway, I came across a tag and thought why not quickly do one now, right? Well, while I'm awake and kicking... wishing I be sleeping instead 'cause I know I will have a long day ahead of me...

Here's a tag ... a little something about me I suppose... I'm not even sure what the tag is called.

The Questions

1. Do you go to school? If yes...what is your favourite subject/ what is your major?
Yes I go to school - I'm attending The University of Queensland. My favorite subjects would be the subjects I am not currently studying, which would have to be something like languages or the film review subject that I did. Or beauty related cosmetics ingredients study or something haha... My major... well I'm in Science. So I guess that relates in a bit... somewhat... Though I do enjoy some aspects of it, there are several other aspects of it that I just wish would write themselves out of my life... hahaha

2. Do you work? If yes...what is your job?
Yes I do work part time/casually and I work as a sales assistant at a department store called David Jones... just while I'm still studying... being an 'always broke' student that I am... and if you're wondering whether this will be a permanent sort of job for me? I would have to say no, thank you. For now, it's good.

3. Do you read? If yes...name a few of your favourite books and/or magazines.
Yes. A couple of my favorites would have to be A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossein, Across the Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn... I used to read classic novels too (such as Charles Dickens) but not really now... Magazines... yes I do like magazines. Vogue, Marie Claire, InStyle, Harper's Bazaar are to name some of my favorites... Currently reading Water for Elephants...

4. Can you cook?
Yes

5. Do you have any siblings?
Yes. Two younger sisters.

6. Do you speak any other languages?
Yes I speak Indonesian, Javanese and I can understand Malay. I speak a mixture of Indonesian, Javanese and German at home. I do have basic knowledge of Japanese and Korean, though sadly I don't practice them as much so there are a lot that I've forgotten. The first language that I learnt to speak was actually German - but again, unfortunately I'm not fluent in it because it is not practiced or spoken as much, only few words remain intact in my memory. I'd love to learn more languages and better my Japanese and Korean. I've picked up several phrases from Thai songs... and Hindi would be nice to learn too... French would be cool but I know I will definitely have trouble pronouncing every single thing! Mandarin would be useful but again I will have trouble with correct pronounciation. Hah!

7. If you could holiday anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Greece. The first thing that came to my head right as of this moment... although there are so many other places I would love to go such as Maldives, Germany, Guilin (China), Italy, US, Japan, India... etc... I'd love to check out more of Indonesia too... Why? Because I like to see the world and the world's beauty doesn't end here.

8. What is your idea of the perfect date?
Snuggling up, sipping hot chocolate, walks in the city or parks at night under the lights or at a lit up bridge...

9. What is your dream career?
It has changed over the years... right now I wouldn't mind being a reviewer, social media person, go travel, mtv vj, songwriter, poet, artist... fashion designer... yeah... I'm like that. On the side, investments rolling.

10. Are you athletic...do you play sports/work out..or are you a couch bunny?
I've been swimming since I was very small, very young that my swimming training started when I was 3 years old. However I've stopped swimming competitively for few years now and walking and occasional jogs are my main mode of exercises now. Maybe recreational badminton, just having a couple of hours of play with a bunch of friends... I've also done some horse riding but haven't really done much of it when I moved to Australia, only done it back in Indonesia. I'm not overly athletic nor am I a couch bunny, though I do get my lazy days.

11. What are your three favorite things (that have nothing to do with makeup/beauty)?
chilling, writing, and listening to music - haha as you can probably tell by now I'm really in that chilled out holiday mode which I really shouldn't be!

12. What is the BEST thing about you?
open-mindedness - being a kid that grows up exposed to several different cultures and I just feel it in the ways I view things.

So that's it guys! Hope that wasn't such a boring read... and hope you guys enjoyed that little sneakpeek at my life outside the whole beauty makeup things... This took longer than I expected... now that it's almost 6AM in the morning!!

Ok! Goodnight!!!

Organisation 101: First Try

(Warning: Photos Heavy)

Just a quick shot of my commonly used products... and since I just rearranged it and reorganised it, I thought I'd keep track of it and see whether I'd still like it in months to come and if not...

Side note: Some products are shared with my sisters, for example - acne creams so 1 or 2 products might be in her room. Face cleansers and makeup removers are normally placed in the bathroom so they're not included in here. I do give away my products, especially to my sisters and my mum and friends.

So here we go...

I actually bought this drawer quite awhile ago, maybe even a year ago but always placed it someplace else and chucked all sorts of other things. Today I decided to clean up that area of my desk and place this organisation drawer there instead.
Brief run through of the products starting from left:
Herbal ointment oil, Lush Eau Roma Water Toner, Lush 9 to 5 Cleanser, TiGi BedHead "Some Like It Hot" Heat & Humidity Resistant Serum, Aquify contact lenses solution, MAC Fix+

So inside the drawers...
Blushes, Bronzers, a Palgantong highlighter that looks like a MAC blush at the back there
& my 1st Laura Mercier Orchid Mosaic
.
You can also spot my "oops dirty" Hourglass Illume Creme-to-powder Blush/Bronzer Duo in Sunset which I adore! I use the bronzer to contour and the blush as base for blush! L-o-v-e!

Powders
I have recently hit pan on my Maybelline Dream Matte powder so I have a new one opened and 1 backup.
The bottle looking white powder with the red cap is the RCMA Powder No Color that goes on quite transparent - very similar to the MAC Prep+Prime Transparent Powder - great for setting your undereye concealers.

L'Oreal True Match powder in W3 - quite nice I must say, rather impressed at its smoothness.
MAC Blot Powder in Medium Dark - hitting pan on this, nice to have.

Foundations
Hourglass Veil Fluid Foundation in numbers 2 & 1.5 (but normally I just use the 2)
Guerlain Parure Aqua in 032
Maybelline SuperStay 24Hour in Nude
L'Oreal True Match in W3 Nude Beige
MAC Pro Longwear in NC30 (seriously have used almost half of this bottle)
Revlon Colorstay Normal skin in Buff
a sample pot of MAC Pro Longwear (handy to carry around)
a sample of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (from a magazine or something)

Primers
Actually I wouldn't call Embryollise as primer, hahaha, I just thought I put it in this drawer since it works to mix foundations and to just use as a moisturiser by itself.
What we have here in this drawer...
Gorgeous Cosmetics First Primer - just using it up and it works awesome as a spot makeup remover. Smells nice, almost like soothing orange peel...
Australis Face primer - very affordable, especially here in Australia, feels nice and cooling when applied on your skin. A few of its ingredients include cucumber extract, rosewater, orange oil, honey, aloe leaf juice, geranium oil.
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer for All Skin Types
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer - as you can see I have a bit left.
The Face Shop Professional Make Up Base Oil Free in Green - for days I'm super duper red, this covers pores quite well too but may be a tad drying in winter or my skin isn't as oily.

Face Moisturisers, Face sunscreen, serum, acne cream
and an Aloe Vera gel.

My favorite lipsticks, lipglosses

Mainly concealers but there's a Stila foundation stick that I use to contour, a Graftobian foundation palette that I use as concealers, Benefit High Beam as highlighters, Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer palette.
Eyeshadows that I use most and lately I've only been using that old Christian Dior palette I found from my mum's stash. It's so old that the numbering has faded off so I have no idea what model it is. I might have to bring it to the Dior counter one day and do a match. We'll see.

Cotton tips or Q-tips, eyedrops, and disposable mascara wands
Lashes - I don't have many... my favorites are Gorgeous Cosmetics Madam Lash lashes and MAC (though I only have 1 MAC lashes).
The glue I use is Duo. I want to try the black version. This glue is amazing, lasts all night long or all day long! Depending on when you are wearing it.
My Shu Uemura eyelash curler with its replacement pad
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous in waterproof
Maybelline Full 'n' Soft waterproof (new one - which I'm actually going to give to my sister)

And maybe a little peek at my boring perfume collection
5 out of these were given to me from family and friends.
My current favourite has got to be that little Kenzo one at the bottom left in front of Moschino Funny.
And Versace Woman - the tall one shaped like a lady in the middle back, with the teeny tiny miniature of it. You can see how much, or, how not very much left I have in there! (Note to self) Must repurchase!

'Cause I'm beginning to notice, I tend to use probably 1 or 2 perfumes which I really like on daily basis. I don't switch it up that often. When I really do like a scent, I like to use it all the time that sort of thing. That's probably why I get a little bit picky when buying perfumes which I rarely do, and buy for other people instead. Hahaha...

Alrighty
There we have it...
